DeiC Interactive HPC is a high performance computing (HPC) facility focusing on interactive computing resources and easy access.
It provides the user with extensive computing power, storage, and memory when their personal computer is no longer sufficient. DeiC Interactive HPC allows for easy access to high performance computing and many pre-installed programs/apps, similar to what users are familiar with from their personal computer, and this type of HPC is therefore the natural first encounter with HPC for many users.
Users will be able to access DeiC Interactive HPC and its vast computing power from anywhere using any device with a browser (due to data protection for relevant types of data this does not apply outside the EU). Unlike traditional HPC facilities running large unattended batch jobs, users of DeiC Interactive HPC can interact with (edit/stop/start) their script, code etc. at any time making it easy to experiment and correct mistakes.
DeiC Interactive HPC is available to all students and researchers affiliated with Aarhus University. Users can collaborate with employees from any of the Danish universities. Users can sign on directly via WAYF, and it is possible to include international collaborators through an authentification process confirming the collaborater's identity.
Because Interactive HPC is so simple to use, it is ideal for new users and also students.
Interactive HPC is a valuable HPC resource for experienced users as the many available programmes offer experienced users an abundance of opportunity, and it is well-suited for prototyping and idea development.
